Colin was born in Argentina, where he became an architect, immigrating to Canada in 1965. His artistic training began in the Buenos Aires atelier of Julia Perea Muñoz. In Canada he took many workshops with renowned artists. He is a member of various art organizations, and has participated in numerous group and solo shows. Colin's work is mostly involved with landscape, but frequently includes other subjects. He gives many painting demonstrations, instructs groups in sketching and painting in watercolours, oils and acrylics, and his work hangs in many private and corporate collections, as well as being exhibited in art galleries in Alberta, British Columbia, Mexico and Arizona.

Art is a compulsion for me, as natural and needful as breathing. My work mostly celebrates places I have experienced, both natural and urban, attempting to communicate the spirit of place by means of light, colour, texture and line. I enjoy working in watercolours, oils and acrylics, each of which allows certain magical things to happen which are unique to that medium. My paintings are not literal, but are faithful to the essence of the subject. I believe paintings should be a celebration of life, spirit, light and colour. Painting "plein air" is one of my joys in life when weather and opportunity permit.
